Dubnica po náročnom štvrťfinále, kedy vypadli so Žiarom nad Hronom, ktorý prehrával 0:3 na zápasy určite očakáva dlhšiu sezónu. Dopomôcť by tomu mala aj najnovšia akvizícia, ktorá má na svojom konte mimo iné aj 68 zápasov za reprezentáciu Slovenska.
Nie je ním samozrejme nikto iný, ako skúsený veterán Marek Hovorka. Rodák z Dubnice nad Váhom tak okúsi svoje sekundárne pôsobenie v druhej najvyššej súťaži Tipos SHL, nedávno totižto nastupoval za Vlkov zo Žiliny. Práve tam odohral začiatok uplynulej sezóny, následne bol pomerne dlho bez klubu až sa upísal Košiciam. To sa ukázalo ako skvelý ťah z oboch strán, Hovorka dodal cenné skúsenosti do nižších formácii, čoho odmenou mu bol aj titul pre majstra Tipos Extraligy. Celkovo za Košice v majstrovskej sezóne odohral 38 ročný útočník 26 duelov a strelil 2 góly, na 6 asistoval.
Hovorka má svoju kariéru naozaj bohatú, s Jastrzebie získal v sezóne 2020/21 majstrovský titul v Poľsku, bol pri striebre z MS 2012, hral v Česku, KHL i spomínanom Poľsku. Minulú sezónu si tiež odškrtol zo zoznamu aj Extraligový titul, ktorý mu doteraz chýbal.
