Menoslov legionárov v našej Tipos Extralige sa točí rýchlo, väčšina na našich klziskách strávi len jednu sezónu a tak sa často stane, že na niekdajšiu hviezdu aj úplne zabudneme. Práve teraz si predstavíme pár z nich, kde hrajú? Odrazili sa z Extraligy do lepšej ligy?
Colton Yellow Horn (kedysi Nitra, dnes Coventry Blaze)
Zoznam troch vybraných hráčov otvára niekdajší líder ofenzívy Corgoňov. Dnes už 36 ročný forward vtedy nastúpil do rozbehnutého vlaku, keďže sezónu 2019/20 začal v Grazu, kde sa mu nepodarilo nadviazať na mimoriadne produktívnu sezónu 2018/19 (61 stretnutí, 26 gólov a 38 asistencií). Výsledkom zlého začiatku Yellow Horna bolo 11 zápasov (0+2) a následný koniec v klube. Šancu na napravenie sezóny mu poskytla trápiaca sa Nitra, ktorá tak ako Yellow Horn zaznamenala pokles oproti minulému ročníku. Nová akvizícia odohrala 32 zápasov, zaznamenala 11 gólov a 23 prihrávok na gól. Táto sezóna sa napokon však kvôli Covidu nedohrala a tak mohol Yellow Horn tieto čísla ešte prilepšiť. Po sezóne spolu s Juddom Blackwaterom zamierili do Rumunska, kde nastupovali za celok SC Csíkszereda. Po sezóne, kedy obaja patrili k najlepším hráčom ligy sa ich cesty rozišli a Colton sa sťahoval do EIHL. Pôsobí tam už druhú sezónu, tú minulú zakončil bilanciou 16+24 za 49 stretnutí. Pre ročník 2023/24 však zatiaľ klub nemá.

Priam rozprávkový príbeh napísal niekdajší útočník Detvy, Hayden Hodgson. Ten spoznal slovenský hokej ešte v sezóne 2018/19, kedy zamieril do Detvy z ECHL. Za tím spod Poľany nezaznamenal žiadne výrazné bodové hody, za 27 stretnutí si 94 kilogramov vážiaci pravý krídelník prišiel na 7 presných zásahov a 6 asistencií. Tohto času by si možno ani on sám nepomyslel, že odohrá zápasy v najlepšej hokejovej lige sveta. Život avšak vie napísať veľmi prekvapivé príbehy a tak sa po sezónach v ECHL, ktoré absolvoval po odchode zo Slovenska upísal organizácii Philadelphie Flyers. Sezónu 2021/22 na farme v AHL podával solídne výkony, čoho odmenou mu boli aj samotné štarty v NHL, konkrétne 6 duelov (1+2). Po tejto sezóne avšak prišiel značný pokles na číslach, už to bolo len 8 bodov za 44 zápasov v American Hockey League a jeden štart v NHL. V ďalšej sezóne už avšak bude zarezávať v organizácii Los Angeles, keďže sa stal súčasťou výmeny Ivana Provorova.
Andreas Bernard (kedysi MAC Budapešť, teraz Pustertal)
Jediným brankárom v tomto článku je dnes už skôr sporadický reprezentant Talianska, Andreas Bernard. Svojho času ale šlo o veľmi prekvapivú a kvalitnú posilu, ktorú predstavilo maďarské mužstvo v tom čase hrajúce na Slovensku. Bola to posila, ktorá sezónu predtým chytala v kvalitnej Liige, tam odchytal 37 zápasov s úspešnosťou 90,5%. Následne sa predstavil aj na MS, kde bol jednotkou Talianska. S určitosťou si tak vedenie sľubovalo nielen nahradenie Bence Bálisza, keďže Bernard prišiel ako reakcia na zranenie maďarského brankára, ale aj zaradenie Bernarda medzi najlepších brankárov ligy. Andreas tieto vysoké očakávania aj naplnil, odchytal 16 duelov s úspešnosťou 91,9% a po sezóne šiel domov do Talianska, pretože sa upísal Bolzanu, ktoré hrá v ICEHL. Po zastávkach vo Švédsku a Rakúsku sa vrátil späť do Bolzana, kde chytal až do minulej sezóny. Najnovšie je posilou Pustertalu, ktoré taktiež pôsobí v ICEHL.
