V utorok sa Vegas Golden Knights na tréningu v Rogers Centre dočkali príjemného prekvapenia. Ich superhviezdny center Jack Eichel korčuľoval s tímom prvýkrát od 11. januára, keď utrpel zranenie kolena.
Jack Eichel sa vrátil na ľad, ale na to aby naskočil do zápasu si bude musieť ešte počkať. Bol to už jeho 17. zápas, ktorý vynechal od 11. januára, keď utrpel zranenie pri víťazstve 2:1 po predĺžení proti Bostonu Bruins. Eichel, ktorý nastúpil v červenom bezkontaktnom drese, zaznamenal v tejto sezóne 44 bodov (19+25) v 42 zápasoch, čo mu umožnilo stanoviť nové kariérne maximá vo všetkých týchto troch kategóriách. To sa teraz nepodarilo a Golden Knights sa musia sústrediť na to, aby bol Eichel zdravý na domácu časť sezóny a na play-off.
Golden Knights budú pokračovať v päťzápasovom tripe vo štvrtok proti Bostonu Bruins, v sobotu pocestujú do Buffala, kde budú hrať so Sabres, a v pondelok zakončia trip proti Columbusu Blue Jackets. Eichel, dvojka draftu z roku 2015, má na svojom konte 490 bodov (199 gólov, 291 asistencií) v 518 zápasoch v drese Sabres (2015-21) a Golden Knights.
,,Tréneri by mali mať lepší prehľad. Musí s nami absolvovať aj plný tréning, ktorý môže byť v Bostone (v stredu). Uvidíme, ako sa nám bude dariť dnes večer.“

Vegas Knights porazili v spomínanom zápase Maple Leafs 6:2 a prerušili tak 7-zápasovú víťaznú sériu Toronta. Hlavnými strojcami víťazstva boli Jonathan Marchessault a Shea Theodore, ktorí zaznamenali po tri kanadské body.
