V noci z pondelka na utorok sa oficiálne rozhodlo o víťazovi Stanleyho pohára. V piatom zápase veľkolepého finále si Vegas Golden Knights kruto rozobral Floridu Panthers. Zápas vyhrali 9:3 a stali sa tak prvým tímom od roku 1942 ktorý strelil vo finále deväť gólov. Tým posledným boli hráči z Toronta Maple Leafs

Ešte pred samotným ceremoniálom, kde si každý hráč mohol vyzdvihnúť nad hlavu vysnívanú trofej, nesmelo chýbať ocenenie pre najužitočnejšieho hráča vyraďovacej časti ligy. Rozhodovalo sa najmä medzi Jackom Eichelom a Jonathanom Marchessaultom, pričom v ich tesnom závese stál aj brankár Adin Hill.

Ocenenie nakoniec vyhral s prehľadom Jonathan Marchessault. Kanadský krídelník zaznamenal v 22 zápasoch 13 gólov, čím sa radil nie len medzi najlepších kanonierov tímu, ale aj celého playoff. Na konte zaznamenal 25 bodov, čo z neho urobilo druhého najproduktívnejšieho hráča playoff, hneď sa jeho kolegom Jackom Eichelom.

Nebol som spokojný s mojím prvým kolom, ale na konci dňa sme našli spôsob, ako vyhrať hokejové zápasy a partia chalanov sa postavila v správnom čase a ja som chcel prispieť a pomôcť svojmu tímu vyhrávať hokejové zápasy no zo začiatku sme to robili bez toho, aby som produkoval. Jednoducho povedané, nedostanete sa sem s jedným alebo dvoma chlapmi, dostanete sa sem s plným úsilím organizácie a je to niečo, na čo môžete byť skutočne hrdí.
