Dnes v noci sa v osemfinálovej sérii AHL rozhodlo o tom, že z dvojice Utica Comets a Toronto Marlies postúpil práve farmársky tím Maple Leafs.

Pred bránami štvrťfinále tak ostala farma New Jeresy Devils, ktorej lídrom obrany bola dvojka minuloročného draftu Šimon Nemec. Nepochybne sa tak pozornosť slovenských fanúšikov obracia na vývoj situácie okolo jeho účasti na majstrovstvách sveta.

Je s určitosťou dobré povedať, že tento ofenzívny bek by bol v slovenskej reprezentácii prínosom. Stále však nepadla definitíva zo strany Devils.

New Jersey v tejto chvíli bojuje o postup do konferenčného finále NHL proti Caroline Hurricanes. V sérii síce prehrávajú 2:0 na zápasy, avšak o Caroline je známe, že playoff zápasy na pôde súpera sú ich slabinou.

Devils majú v úlohe náhradníka na playoff tohtoročného debutanta v NHL Luka Hughesa, no tým, že ich farma vypadla, môžu siahnúť aj po hráčoch z nej. Aj preto sa objavili špekulácie o tom, že na túto pozíciu by mohol byť dosadený práve rodák z Liptovského Mikuláša.

Týmto pádom vysí nad účasťou Nemca mnoho otáznikov. V momentálnej chvíli je však jeho účasť na MS pravdepodobnejšia ako povolanie do prvého tímu.

Nemec v tejto sezóne nazbieral v AHL v 65 zápasoch 34 bodov, pričom v playoff pridal v 5 zápasoch jeden gól a štyri asistencie.
