Toronto Maple Leafs sa dohodli na novom 8-ročnom kontrakte s 27-ročným Švédskym krídelníkom Williamom Nylanderom.
William Nylander by mal dostávať 11.5 milióna ročne po dobu 8 rokov. Tento kontrakt, je doposiaľ najväčší v histórii slávnej Kanadskej organizácie v ktorej okrem Williama pôsobia aj ďalšie hviezdy ako napríklad Auston Matthews, John Tavares alebo Mitchell Marner.
Nylander bol v roku 2014 draftovaný Torontom z 8. miesta v prvom kole draftu. Odvtedy pôsobí v službách Maple Leafs. V tejto sezóne si Nylander pripísal 54 kanadských bodov v 37 zápasoch za 21 gólov a 33 asistencií.
Nielen v tejto sezóne ale aj v predošlých sezónach Nylander preukazoval nesporné kvality a to najmä v zakončení, keď v minulej sezóne zaznamenal 44 presných zásahov a v sezóne 21-22 skóroval Nylander 37-krát.
