Už dlhšiu dobu sa vie, že v Poprade chystajú ďalší výrazný prievan v kabíne. Klub zo severo-východu Slovenska bol aj tento rok na začiatku mája s novinkami tichší a okrem Calofa, Mlynaroviča a trénera Todda Bjorkstranda je káder na ďalší ročník Tipos Extraligy zahalený rúškom tajomstva.
Poprad oznámil desať odchodov, posily si nechávajú na neskôr
Najvýraznejším odchodom je nezotrvanie bývalého kapitána a rodáka Patrika Svitanu. Kreatívny krídelník, ktorý za Poprad odohral 645 duelov by mal podľa špekulácii zamieriť do Michaloviec. Počas minulej sezóny sa na jeho pomery trápil, skúsil viac formácií, od prvej až po štvrtú a za 49 duelov základnej časti strelil 7 gólov, ku ktorým pridal 22 asistencií. Poprad definitívne opúšťa aj ďalší srdciar a to Matej Paločko. 27-ročný útočník pôvodne v Poprade skončil už pred touto sezónou, kedy s ním klub rozviazal zmluvu kvôli zraneniu, napokon sa však cez farmu AquaCity Pikes dostal opäť do hlavného tímu. Dres s „kamzíkom“ si neoblečie ani skúsený Tomáš Záborský, ktorý sa trápil so zraneniami, kvôli ktorým stihol počas základnej časti len 34 zápasov z možných 50. Aj s play-off odohral 40 stretnutí (21+10) a podľa šumov by sa mohol domov, za Trenčín naposledy nastupoval ešte v juniorských časoch.
Hosťovanie sa skončilo Petrovi Bjalončíkovi, ktorý sa doma opäť uchytil a patril neskôr k príjemným prekvapeniam, keď za rodný Poprad odohral dokopy 21 zápasov s prispením siedmich presných zásahov a v deviatich prípadoch na gól asistoval. V Michalovciach sa však pravdepodobne dlho neohreje, keďže je vo veľkom spájaný so Slovanom Bratislava. Končí aj štvorica legionárov, budúcnosť lídra Ryana Dmowskeho je známa už dlhšie, keď jeho zisk oznámil český Hradec Králové. Adresu mení aj jeho „parťák“ z prvej formácie, center Tyler Coulter, ktorý by sa mal vrátiť do nadnárodnej ICEHL. Pre súperov nepríjemný stredný útočník, ktorý obľuboval predbránkový priestor nevynechal jediný zápas a spolu s vyraďovacími súbojmi stihol 56 duelov (18+21). Vysoké bodové očakávania nedokázal naplniť Peter Bates, ktorý prišiel ako veľká posila pred play-off. Veľké vyhliadky boli na mieste, keďže prišiel ako 7. najproduktívnejší hráč ECHL. Posledným importom, ktorý opúšťa kabínu „kamzíkov“ je obľúbenec tribún, Alexander Peresunko. Rodák z Charkova bol jasným lídrom farmy a za „šťuky“ za 19 zápasov zaznamenal bilanciu 25+7. Šikovný reprezentant Ukrajiny končí na Slovensku po necelých dvoch sezónach.
Dvojica útočníkov posilnila Zvolen
Okrem Dmowskeho svoju budúcnosť vyriešil aj Andrej Kukuča s Dominikom Jendekom. Prvý menovaný Kukuča má za sebou prelomovú sezónu, vďaka ktorej si vyslúžil tiež debut v seniorskej reprezentácii. Naopak, na minulý ročník pravdepodobne z individuálnej stránky nebude dobre spomínať 22-ročný Dominik Jendek, ktorý sa trápil s absenciami a za 32 zápasov zaznamenal bilanciu 6+3. Obaja sa upísali Zvolenu.
