Asi najväčším menom v NHL, ktoré bolo bez zmluvy, bol útočník Anaheimu Ducks – Trevor Zegras. Mladučký center známy predovšetkým svojimi gólmi v lakrosovom štýle nevedel dlho s káčermi dohodnúť. Dlhé čakanie sa ale dnes podpisom novej zmluvy skončilo.
Zegras sa dlho nevedel s klubom dohodnúť na výške platu a aj trvaní nového kontraktu. Na povrch vyšli informácie o tom, že Ducks mu ponúkajú iba 3 až 4 milióny ročne. Napokon podpísal Zegras zmluvu na tri roky s ročným platom 5,75 miliónov dolárov.
Obavy, že by Zegras začal sezónu bez zamestnávateľa, sa tak ukončili. Finalista Calder Trophy z roku 2022 si na konto v minulej sezóne pripísal 23 gólov a 42 asistencii. Novým kontraktom si ho Ducks poistili až do leta 2026.
