Senators Sports & Entertainment dnes oznámili novinku, v ktorej odhalili nového majiteľa. Novým majiteľom klubu sa stal Michael Andlauer.
Už dlhšie sa medzi insidermi šuškalo o možnom predaji klubu z Ottawy. Nakoniec sa špekulácie premenili na realitu. Andlauer odkúpil od Melnyk Estate, bývalých majiteľov, 90 percentný podiel vlastníctva klubu. Vďaka tomu bude mať kontrolu nad všetkými rozhodnutiami v klube, keďže ide o väčšinový podiel.
„Ja a moja rodina sme nadšení, že môžme byť súčasťou tohto hokejového klubu. Verím v to, že Senators majú jednu z najlepších fanúšikovských základní v celej lige. Dúfam, že sa mi podarí posunúť celú organizáciu ešte o level vyššie.“

Michael Andlauer nie je v americkom hokejovom svete vôbec novým menom. V roku 2003 sa najprv stal spolumajiteľom a neskôr v roku 2004 aj majiteľom klubu Hamilton Bulldogs, ktorý pôsobí v AHL. Vlastníkom bol až do roku 2015, kedy predal Hamilton Bulldogs do vlastníctva Montrealu Canadiens. Následne kúpil Belleville Bulls z OHL a presťahoval tím do Hamiltonu, kde sa im podarilo vyhrať titul OHL v rokoch 2018 a 2020.
